New Film with three Stargate SG-1 characters!!!

Well, this is just so AMAZING that I had to post this message. On the 5th of February, 2010, a new film is being released. 'Smallville:Absolute Justice'. It contains three Stargate SG-1 actors. Starting with Micheal Shanks (Daniel Jackson), who will be playing Hawlkman; Brent Strait(Louis Feretti), who is playing Doctor Fate and finally, Britt Irvin(Merrin of the Orban) who will play Stargirl!
This is unbeilivable. I just can't get my head around it! Micheal Shanks is a legand, Brent is brillent and, as you can see from the picture above, little Britt isn't so little anymore!

Factors to consider when buying a laptop.
I think that there are 8 very important factors to consider when buying a laptop.
These are all very important points to consider when buying a laptop I think.
- First, you must consider the Cost. When you are buying a laptop you must always be aware of the cost. A good laptop can cost you anything from 300 euro to over a grand! Obviously as students our price ranges are at the lower end of that scale.
- Second, the weight of the laptop must be factored in. A laptop that is really heavy is not going to be useful to you if you're bringing it outside with you. You want a laptop that is light and easy to transport.
- Thrid, the size of the laptop must be considered. Laptops with a large screen are clearer and more defined compared to a small screen. However if you are only buying a laptop for irregular use, a large screen laptop is probably a waste of money. For us student's however, who are never off our computers, a large screen is a must.
- Fourth, the brand of the laptop is important. There are certain companies which are far superior to others in laptop development. I personally have an Acer laptop and I think it's the biggest mistake I ever made.
- Fifth, the speed of a laptop is very important. The average laptop now has 2gb RAM. Always a must for fast connections.
- Sixth, the memory of a laptop is important. Now however with external hard drives becoming cheaper and cheaper the actualy memory in a laptop is not as important. I will say however that it's imortant to save up for these external hardrives. A 16gb memory stick can cost you 45 euro in PC World. A terabyte hard drive can be bought for 80 euro in the Carphone Warehouse. Do the math, what's better value?
- Seventh, the compatibility of your software if very important. If you're lucky enough to be able to afford the newist technology you'll get a laptop with Windows 7. However, how many programs have been made that are compatable with the new software? Or, if I was to go to the other extream; what if you didn't have XP or Vista, what softwear is compatablt with programms older than them? As a student we don't have the money for the newest technology out there, however, will it cost us more to have tech that's not even up-to-date?
- Finally, the software that is on the laptop must be suitable to our studies. We must have word, powerpoint etc. These are software that are invaluable to us. We must have them on the laptop. How much will we spend getting these programes installed on our laptops or how much extra for that laptop to have them pre-installed?
These are all very important points to consider when buying a laptop I think.
Holographics
Hey,
Well, as we all know the Stargate Franchise has been using holograms, and holographic communication for years now. I'm certain that soon we will be seeing this on Stargate Universe soon also.
So with that thought in mind I went onto the Internet to look around and just see how far we have come with real holographic communication. To my surprise this technology is already here! An English company known as 'Musion Eyeliner', has perfected the technology.
On Wednesday, 12th November 2008, the company arranged a live show; linking Berlin with London. Ian O'Connell, who is actually one of the directors of the company, appeared live on stage as a holographic projection. The projection is bi-directional allowing the person being projected to see the people they are talking to also. The applications for this technology are endless. Obviously the business world will have use for it in board room communications. However, Schools may find this technology useful, allowing a teacher to teach her class from home should the need arise.
I think however that the video above this post will provide a better explanation of this technology to you.
Now, another thing I've found interesting is a further development in holographic technology. Up until now this technology has been a visual manifestation only. Now however, researchers in the University of Tokyo are working on a tangible hologram. Developed by 'Provision Interactive Technologies', a pair of Wii remotes track the hand and an Airborne Ultrasound Tactile Display unit shoots focused ultrasonic waves at the hand to create the sensation of pressure on the skin.
This is a huge development in holographic technology. In the video I will show you the hand can feel not only a ball bounce, but rain drops and a small holographic animal.
These are the links to the sights I got this information off.

S1 E006 - Water
In this episode, the crew notice a significant decrease in their water supplies. No one can understand how this is happening.
An inquiry is launched, the senior mimbers of the crew thinking someone is steeling water, no matter how far fetched the idea might be.
When the ship exists out of FLT they realise the are gatting distance away from an ice-planet. Where there's ice, there's water. Or so they hope. Colonel Young and Leiutenant Scott both head over to the planet leaving Leiutenant Johansen in command of the ship. They are ordered to continue the searches into who is stealling the water.
While on the ice-planet Scott and Young test the ice to see if it's safe to drink. It's not. So, they go further on in the hopes that they will find some. After several hours they find a frozen waterfall and when they test the water they find that it's safe enough to drink. Using a laser they start to cut into the ice. There is a tremour and a crevasse appears in the ice. Scott falls down it and is trapped. Young gets a rope and throws it down to Scott. He ties it under his two arms and around his chest. Young then starts to pull but is unable to get Scott out.
Back on the ship, there is no headway being made in the investigaton. However, Lieutenant Johansen has an unusual encounter with the mist ailens Lieutenant Scott discovered on the deseart planet. They come close and surround her, but do not harm her in anyway. They leave then. When Seargent Greer contacts her to say he's founds something she agrees but goes to him anyway.
The find one of the crew members with a large container of water and several food rations. He says that he brought them from the Icraus planet but they don't believe him. He's locked up.
Lieunenant Johansen then explains about the mist creatures. Everyone is confined to quarters when one of the service men are badly injured. He doesnt make it.
Eli wants to tell Colonel Young about the invasion but Dr. Rush won't let him, saying they need the water more. Once again, Dr. Rush seems to be the bad guy.
Back on the ice-planet, the ground has shifted again and it has punctured a hole in Scott's suit somewhere. We can hear the hissing. As the atomsphere is poisonus obviously, this is bad.
The ground moves once more though when Scott is just loosing consciousness but this time it moves out, not in. Scott has freedom to move eaiser. Young encourages Scott to move and eventually he gets out of the crevasse. Unfourtunatly, it has taken it out of him. While they did bring back some ice it wasn't as much as they had hopped and Scott is brought back on a floating 'gurny'.
They ailens where lead to an empty part of the ship at first but once trapped they got out. Now, they are trapped in a barrel and sent through the open worm hole onto the ice-planet while Scott and Yound where still on it. They had to move very carefully to dial up and get back trough.

S1 E005 - Light(part 2)
Hey, well in this episode the Stargate Universe crew are panicking because their ship is heading towards a sun. They still are unable to control the ship and have no way to change the course. As a result of this they decide tohave a lottery and 17 people are chosen to go away on a corgo ship to a planet near the sun that is possibaly inhabbitible. The rest of the crew must stay on the ship and perrish.
Dr. Rush goes to Colonel Young and asks not to be added to the lottery. His life's work is on the ship. He doesn't want to leave it. Other than the Colonel and Dr. Rush everyone else has a chance of getting out of the ship.
The lottery is done and Lieutenant's Scott and Johanson are among the 17 picked. They leave the ship and are moving away slowly. While on their way they released a keno as Eli wanted everyone to get a chance to see the outside of the ship. Sadly he is one of the many left trapped on the main ship.
When the ship is entering the area around the sun everyone is in the main glass room. The want to see it. After a while they start to realise that the ships not breaking apart. By that point the ship should have been teared to pieces. Amazingly, however it was not breaking up. Soon they realise that the ship was actually solar powered and that the ship was just powering up. We soon realise that Dr. Rush had a fair idea that this was going to happen so his nobel scarifice to 'go down with the ship', was actually a load of crock. This does not indear him to the rest of the crew.
When they call the others on the cargo ship there is relief until they try to join the two ships together again. The main ship is getting ready to enter FTL and it's going to fast for the cargo ship to land without destroying it.
Somehow they manage and everyone is safely on board.
