In this episode, the crew notice a significant decrease in their water supplies. No one can understand how this is happening.
An inquiry is launched, the senior mimbers of the crew thinking someone is steeling water, no matter how far fetched the idea might be.
When the ship exists out of FLT they realise the are gatting distance away from an ice-planet. Where there's ice, there's water. Or so they hope. Colonel Young and Leiutenant Scott both head over to the planet leaving Leiutenant Johansen in command of the ship. They are ordered to continue the searches into who is stealling the water.
While on the ice-planet Scott and Young test the ice to see if it's safe to drink. It's not. So, they go further on in the hopes that they will find some. After several hours they find a frozen waterfall and when they test the water they find that it's safe enough to drink. Using a laser they start to cut into the ice. There is a tremour and a crevasse appears in the ice. Scott falls down it and is trapped. Young gets a rope and throws it down to Scott. He ties it under his two arms and around his chest. Young then starts to pull but is unable to get Scott out.
Back on the ship, there is no headway being made in the investigaton. However, Lieutenant Johansen has an unusual encounter with the mist ailens Lieutenant Scott discovered on the deseart planet. They come close and surround her, but do not harm her in anyway. They leave then. When Seargent Greer contacts her to say he's founds something she agrees but goes to him anyway.
The find one of the crew members with a large container of water and several food rations. He says that he brought them from the Icraus planet but they don't believe him. He's locked up.
Lieunenant Johansen then explains about the mist creatures. Everyone is confined to quarters when one of the service men are badly injured. He doesnt make it.
Eli wants to tell Colonel Young about the invasion but Dr. Rush won't let him, saying they need the water more. Once again, Dr. Rush seems to be the bad guy.
Back on the ice-planet, the ground has shifted again and it has punctured a hole in Scott's suit somewhere. We can hear the hissing. As the atomsphere is poisonus obviously, this is bad.
The ground moves once more though when Scott is just loosing consciousness but this time it moves out, not in. Scott has freedom to move eaiser. Young encourages Scott to move and eventually he gets out of the crevasse. Unfourtunatly, it has taken it out of him. While they did bring back some ice it wasn't as much as they had hopped and Scott is brought back on a floating 'gurny'.
They ailens where lead to an empty part of the ship at first but once trapped they got out. Now, they are trapped in a barrel and sent through the open worm hole onto the ice-planet while Scott and Yound where still on it. They had to move very carefully to dial up and get back trough.
